Chris went over this many different ways and the main issue is that Pd currently still relies largely on Tk 8.4. Tcl/Tk 8.5 comes with built in unzip support, which is one reason why I’m trying to get Pd working on OSX without needing 8.4 anymore. IMHO Pd should be on TK 8.5 on all platforms, if not 8.6 at this point.

We also looked into using batch scripts to call the native Windows unzip but there wasn’t any way to do that without requiring a 3rd party tool like 7zip. Maybe that’s changed now, but one issue is always that Pd needs to support old OSes to some degree.

If any of those Windows people on the Facebook group would know how to accomplish this, let us know...

Users on the Facebook group have complained that on Windows they have to take the extra step of unzipping. Is there a way to include a simple windows binary with Pd that would decompress automatically?
