I've been attempting to use graph on parent. Why is it that the scale of the parent-canvas is way different than that of the subpatch? Is there a legitimate reason for this?
Also, what are the functions of the settings "X units per pixel" and "Y units per pixel" in the subpatch properties area? I can't seem to change them when "graph on parent" is on and when it's off, changing them doesn't do anything. Thanks
The GOP patches have a special algorithm to scale from the size of the opened subpatch to that of the subpatch used as a GOP in another patch. I do as follows. I design a patch with GUI elements, save it, make a now patch where I load the first as an abstraction. Then I opn the abstraction, switch on g.o.p., and close it again. Now it looks horrible, and I fix that by editing the properties (width, height) of the GOP abstraction inside the *parent* patch. If all is well, I save the *child* patch, i.e. the very first abstraction, again and it now remebers its size. One could probably do this with clever caculations of the "X units", but in Pd I don't work that way.
