Hey,

here are Windows builds: https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/pull/577#issuecomment-538696687

I welcome anybody to run their existing networking patches on those builds to verify that we didn't accidentally break anything. Ideally, your patch communicates with another program, e.g. Processing, openFrameworks, DAW, web app, etc.

Please leave a reply, so we know that people have actually tested it.

Thanks!

Christof

Howdy all,

For those of you with network-heavy patches and interesting in building/testing Pd, we could use your help.

Earlier in the year, Christof Ressi and I collaborated on overhauling Pd's networking infrastructure and objects. We have things more-or-less finished and it would be helpful to get some more diverse testing as this would be a non-breaking, but major change nonetheless.

Short list is: IPv6 support, connectionless UDP, optional netreceive from address/port outlet, multicast support, netsend timeout, and various small bug fixes and error message improvements

To try this out, build Pd from the "feature/netobject-updates" branch on the Github repository

For macOS 10.9+ users, I have a Pd 0.50 test build which also incorporates the backspace key handling fix in:

If you have a Github account, please post any issues to the PR.
