+1 on receiving control data from [inlet~] (even a new object, like [leftinlet~], would be a tremendous addition).
+1 on being able to tell whether an [inlet~] has a signal connection in the parent patch.

I also have some requests to expand the functionality of abstractions to behave more like objects such as: A- being able to retrieve control data from [inlet~]; B - being able to know if a signal is connected to [inlet~].
