Simplified question:  Does anyone know how to make an array of pointers that point to elements within a canvas?  I don't.  Since the last patch, I tried making a seprate struct for pointers, but it doesn't seem that this is supported.

So I'm trying to make a list of pointers that point to array members within a specified region of the canvas.  This way, I can use the list to manipulate a specified region without altering the rest.  The attached patch shows how I attempt to do it using a list append looped to a list (which then sends the appended list back to the cold inlet of the list append).  This does create the list I want, but I get the message "consistency check failed: gpointer copy" (sometimes gstub_dis).  My question is, what does this mean?  Is there a better way to store a succession of pointers for later use?
