afaik, wiimote support on linux has changed completely, is now supported
by the kernel directly, most likely exposing the device via HID¹.
this basically made libcwiid obsolete (the reason why it is not
developed any more), which in turn obsoletes [wiimote].

Interesting. Do you, or anyone else, know how complete is the HID support of the Wiimote (e.g. support for newer wiimotes and/or passthrough mode)?
