while [block~ 1] seems great, it is really quite consumptive (because most signal-objects will be optimized in their inner-loop (which is called only once per block-cycle with block~==1) and much non-optimized is transferred out of this loop (which is only called once per block-cycle -- with block~==1 this reads: once per sample !!)
while using zexy, a better approach would be
[inlet~] | [*~ 1000] | [pack~] | [l2i] | [unpack~] | [*~ 0.001] | [outlet~]
[l2i] truncates all floats of a list to integers
