Id imagine your best bet would be to spawn a gemwin, send it
fullscreen and use the pdp2gem objects.. plus you can map it to a
texture and it will probably draw faster than native pdp (afaik).
let me know if you get it working, and show me some patches next
share, we missed you paris ;)

Ah,
I would be DAMN suprised is Apple X11 will allow you to do video
out. :( I've had issues with X11 not working properly with dual displays in general, misreading the resolution after the server has been created, etc.. I never tried dual monitors non-mirrored in X11.Are you using X11 in "root" mode, or in the mode where the X11 windows float over your normal aqua windows? Try the other option from what
your doing and see if that works any better.I HAVE used X11 mirroring on the external DVI display... Works fine
with a few minor bugs... does that much work for you?B.

Hey Ben,
I still have one unresolved issue...maybe you have an idea.
I'm able to send a gem window out now when i run pd/gem normally however... there are times when I need to use Apple's X11 (e.g. using pidip) and I can't figure out how to get the X window to go to my s- video out. When using Apple's X11, no other display is detected. Any ideas?
I've posted to some mac forums but no luck yet.

Good fix...
Even on 10.3.9 I still have weird issues with gemwin refusing to get created due to missing context... I have no idea what this is
about, but its always on the second monitor (always works on the primary)
but oddly enough I can't see any pattern to it, a little embarassing at the
last workshop when someone asked how to do fullscreen on the second monitor. :(Something to do with all the fancy monitor detection stuff, I
think I have settled into a pattern that keeps it working for
performances, but that I abide by without thinking about it...B<>

It appears there are various types of weird behaviors on PowerMacs running Tiger with respect to second displays, brightness, resolution, etc.
I tried zapping PRAM and various other tips from forums, then
ran the ati display utilities: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/drivers/ radeondisplayutilities.htmland now i have my second display back. although this has been out for a while, so i'm not sure why it
fixed the problem.best, p

Hello List,
Does anyone know if something has changed in Tiger that
effects how to output a GEM window to the second screen?I have patches that use the message: fullscreen 2
that used to send to my s-video output but since i've
installed tiger i get this error and no output.GemWinCreateMac: newDspyCnt 1 GemWinCreateMac: display 0 width 1280 height 854 origin.x 0
origin.y 0 GemWinCreateMac: attempting fullscreen on display 1 MAC: no info.context error: GEM: Unable to create window error: GEM: gemwin: no window made error: GEM: Create window first!interestingly, if i use: fullscreen 1
it works fine.
i am running: HC's Pd-0.38-4-extended-RC1
Any help would be appreciated.
