But how do you create such a file [.pdrc] then?
in your home directory:
$ pico .pdrc
or
$ nano .pdrc
[as usual, can't remember which text editor you have in OSX]
my .pdrc looks like this:
-lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/zexy -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/bonk~ -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/choice -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/expr~ -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/fexpr~ -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/fiddle~ -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/lrshift~ -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/loop~ -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/pique -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/maxlib -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/iem_mp3 -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/iem_t3_lib -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/iemlib1 -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/iemlib2 -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/pdp -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/pidip -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/plugin~ -lib /usr/local/lib/pd/extra/OSC
yours will be a bit different becuase you might not have all these externals, and they may be in a slightly different place. the important thing is to have absolute paths to your libraries and externals, as well as including any other startup options [type $ pd --help to see all] you want.
