And charge the pd gem with LD command ...... in console....

I don't know what that error message is.

you should get the latest gem from svn and compile with libv4l-devel
or libv4l-dev, i don't know how it's called in jaunty.

that seems to be solving many people's problems including my own.
there is a bunch of posts about it.
