a few more attempts, I have it working once again,
with dropped frames.

Hi all,
I tested with fux_kinect and a kinect connected now. Some results:
on the first test, fux_kinect-help.pd opens and the depth image appears, though with some glitches/flickering (scrambled frames now and then)
The tilting also works.
Upon closing the patch, pd crashes.
On a second attempt (after this crash), the help patch freezes instantly.
Only the first frame of the depth image appears, and then pd hangs.
Attached is the output of "valgrind --leak-check=full pdextended" and opening fux_kinect-help.pd.
Let me know if there's any more useful info I can produce.

Tim

it's stretching my knowledge quite far now,
but gave it a shot anyway, and interpreted what you wrote as:
find the line " gl_frame_cond = (pthread_cond_t) malloc(sizeof(pthread_mutex_t));"
(in fux_kinect.cpp)
and remove the "*" from that line.

Ok, never mind removing "*", put it back and just replace the struct name so that it matches :

  gl_frame_cond = (pthread_cond_t *) malloc(sizeof(pthread_cond_t));

or am I getting it wrong?

Yes... and it's more changes than what I had listed... so nevermind that one. But surely the author would know what I mean.

In the meantime, let's stick to the shortest possible fix.

bingo
thanks :)
can't test with the Kinect connected yet though...
but at least pd does not hang anymore but instead just reports:
[fux_kinect]: kinect initiated
[fux_kinect]: Number of devices found: 0
[fux_kinect]: Could not open device

Tim
