Not using -Werror doesn't mean, that the compilation contains errors. Werror tells the compiler to treat warnings as if they were errors. To drive past a warning sign ("stay alert, school ahead") and not stopping doesn't always lead to a car crash.
A normal config.log has this to say (see below). It seems to me like it doesn't contain anything out of the ordinary, which makes sense because ./configure runs without a problem.
I also cannot see anything suspicous but I'll take a deeper look later.
