Oh, and maybe it's also because scolllist just is slow. Anyway, can't test here, because it always crashes, so I made a quick test patch using just symbol-atoms to display pages (sorry for umlauts, I just copy-pasted some heise-news as a test). It's based on an abstraction I sometimes use, which in the example is not very efficient (too many ookups) but still it seems to run very smoothly. See for yourself.
