Yeah, I think the way to work around this is what I used:

(stuff)
|
[tabwrite keymap]

[table keymap]

plus a couple messages:

) ; keymap write keymap.txt]

&

) ; keymap read keymap.txt]

& a [loadbang] to this last message should automatically reload the last saved values.
