Dear All,
I'm very excited by the "data" aspect of Pd and have been spending the last week reading M.P's papers on the subject and trying to make my own templates. Despite my best efforts, however, I still can't work out how to view the data I construct!
Using M.P's own example for a moment:
[struct struct1 float x float y float h]
[filledpolygon 999 0 2 0 0 20 h 40 0]
This should provide me with an image of a triangle with an adjustable height, if I understand correctly, but where is it?! If I load the help abtractions on [drawpolygon] and [filledpolygon] new canvases appears for them automatically with the relevant shapes drawn within, but I can't work out how to make these canvases appear for me.
Maybe this data structures tutorial by me can help a bit (one line): http://puredata.org/community/projects/convention04/lectures/tk-barknecht/tu...
Ciao
Dear Frank,
Thanks for the tutorial. Unfortunately I can't get it to work. :( It wasn't labeled but I presume it's a pd patch so I added the appropriate extension and tried opening it in pd. Unfortunately Pd doesn't like it and shows its disaproval by crashing.
I guess from the compression algorithm that you're a linux user.
Perhaps something's being lost in conversion? I'm using WinImp to
decompress the file, I don't suppose this is the problem, but do you
have an uncompressed version that I could try?
Thanks anyway, I'll have a look at it in notepad at least and try and get some clues from it that way.
