I am conducting two Pd workshops next month in the Boston area.

The first is on Sunday October 11, and is an intro course designed for artists who are curious about Pd, but have not really used it much.  The first hour is dedicated to installing and setting up Pd on the attendee's laptop.  The basic concepts and design of Pd are covered and there is a brief intro to audio and video as well.  I did one of these in August and there was an overflow of people attending.

The second workshop is for GEM on Sunday October 18.  This course is open to anyone who has some familiarity with Pd or took the first workshop (there is a discount for taking both), but there is going to be some good info for more experienced GEM people too.  I will give a primer on OpenGL and 3D rendering, the structure of GEM rendering, an overview of digital video (including codecs and colorspaces), demonstrate the pix_ objects and camera input with possibly a tracking example.  Space is limited to only 8 people so there is more individual instruction, particularly in the last hour or two.
