I' m just trying out [initbang] downloaded from here https://git.iem.at/pd/iemguts but it doesn't bang on load of an abstraction... I'm using it with Pd-0.47-0 on Debian Jessie. The object compiled fine and is created, but I get no bang... there must be

maybe this recent thread about [initbang]?

No, that won't do, because in my Pd, [initbang] won't send a bang inside an abstraction. Didn't try it in a subpatch, I need it (sort of) for abstractions...
the point about that thread was, that if you have an abstraction, and that abstraction contains a subpatch wherein the [initbang] object lives, then it won't get triggered. or put otherwise: the [initbang] object *must* be instantiated on the top-level of the abstraction.
btw, iemguts in Debian/stretch already has an iemguts that includes a working [initbang], so there is no need to compile it yourself (if you are on stretch).
