Giving a closer look to the patches that you provided seems to me that is logical that uDMX hangs.

Floats are appearing in the Print, there should be only integers from 0 to 255.

Test with the patch I gave you, also do it with pd 0.47.0 or 0.46.7

Hope this helps,
Lucarda.

Hi Jesse,

I attach a patch that does the same but simpler.

Are you sure that the external needs to be feeded with a list?

Test it.

Thanks! Two file are attached - DMX_frames.pd depends on u_tabdump.pd

My main patch is sort of working - but my terribly hacky fix is that I’m sending a pre-emptive close and open message very 1 second. It mostly isn’t in the way of things - but t’s total hack - and does cause occasional glitches.

I’m not sure if other software works better - I don’t have any DMX software. But my impression is that this is a pretty widely used device. I suspect my patch/implementation more than the hardware. Is there a freely available application that might be good for a test?
