thanks guenter,
after i installed jack-audio-connection-kit-devel pd (Pd version 0.37.1 devel compiled 15:45:37 Nov 1 2004) compiled fine. now jack won't start! i get this error:
18:12:05.824 Could not connect to JACK server as client. cannot read connection request from client cannot complete new client connection process could not attach as client (duplicate client name?)
hmm, maybe you have another jack running already ?
Some versions of jack are a bit lazy when cleaning up (don't know if this is still true with the newest versions, I am gradually trying to not having to know these things)
... try rebooting. This should clean up all leftovers from previous jack invocations.
Then try with a program that you know that works with jack.
It is not very likely that the installation of the development packages made your jack system non functional.

i'll try the LAU list. rob

hi,
i'm trying to build pd on a fedora core 2 system with --enable-jack. ./configure --enable-jack works fine but when i run 'make' it fails not being able to find jack/jack.c locate jack.c only finds jack.c in a wine folder
this should be jack.h. you need the jack headers to compile with jack support. install jack-audio-connection-kit-devel Which version of pd is this ?
Guenter
make: *** [s_audio_jack.o] Error 1
i have jack on my system and it runs via qjackctl (all from planetccrma) any ideas what i should do?
thanks
rob
