This RPM that you speak of, is it similar to HC's installers for mac and window$. i mean with core externals and gem built in. that would be fantastic. cheers....i heard that gem had some trouble with mandrake, but that could be old news. tom
H.C. Steiner has been harassing me for a while for that RPM. I do have a 0.37 rpm for Mandrake 9.1, that I built last week. I intend to upload it to the CVS before the end of the month (soon) In the meanwhile, get ready by following these advices:
- If you have a fast internet connection, configure urpmi with this: http://plf.zarb.org/~nanardon/
- Don't recompile your kernel unless you need some feature not available, and install the multimedia kernel from the "contrib" source.
- Don't install tcl/tk 8.4, stick to 8.3
- Install jackit-realtime 0.81 from the "thac" source
