yes, you can do this. but you need to have the basicstamp talk to pd somehow. how do you have the data getting to the computer? the only thing i've done with a basicstamp and pd communicated through midi.

i m using a basicstampII (www.parallax.com), a devantech ultrasonic range finder (http://www.acroname.com/robotics/parts/R93-SRF04.html) with the comport external to do this kind of things.
