Hi, now that pd 0.48-2 is about to come out with the new deken, I'm checking it out and giving it a deeper look. I wasn't really using it before. So, I have a few questions and considerastions.

1- There's a default change, now it doesn't prompt you no more if you want to add externals to the path. I get it this is more than intentional and would like to inquire why. Thinking in the mind set of a newbie and newcomer, this might be handy to suggest. Advanced users who are annoyed can edit it in the preferences. Anyway, that's just my two pennies on it.

2- The preferences tab seems overcomplicated and I can't understand a few aspects of it. There is a "check" box which I don't know what it is supposed to check, and that I cannot actually click on it and activate the checking. Also, when asking "Install externals to directory:" I can select the same directory (/Users/porres/Documents/Pd/externals, in my case) in four different places, and I don't know why can't it be just one.

cheers
