Got it--I didn't have openjdk installed. It might be a good idea to mention this in  the readme file, as I'm sure there are others out there like me who struggle with the basics.

checkout the .bat file and do the same manually :-)

- start Pd>=0.46 and load the PdWrapper.pd abstraction:
 $ pd PdWrapper.pd
- run the .jar file:
 $ java -jar Editor/CrossPlatformJava/MobMuPlatEditor.jar
