The extended libraries were once uploaded to be
installed in Vanilla via our deken plugin. It was
important to have these libraries around in a transition
phase period when Extended quite unfortunately ceased
and people were adapting. There are new libraries being
maintained and with alternatives. Unauthorized is dead,
abandoned, no one is maintaining it or making new
uploads. There's an old version there which doesn't even
run on newer machines and it has the old license and
explains how it was forked and even points to your
original repository. Isn't that good enough? Do you want
us to upload a new version with the new license so
people can install from deken? Can we leave it at that?
Do you want it out of deken? Under what reasoning?
It's part of my personal mission to offer
alternatives from old and abandoned libraries, from
Extended and elsewhere. I already have alternatives for
a couple of objects I used from unauthorized, like
[grid] (I got [slider2d] and [pad] in ELSE for that).
Yeah, I lied I "never used it", but I don't consider
that using a couple of objects when I was using Extended
means I actually knew your library.
For the record, I will reinforce that now that I have
unauthorized cloned, I will look again on what's in
there for real, see if something is worth having an
alternative to. And regarding the topic of the thread,
I'll investigate more about what we have in Pd regarding
streaming and will look into adding those things into
ELSE (and in PlugData by extension).
> i might be ill too, but would not expose
this on a mailing list.
You're exposing yourself a lot though, seriously.
Hey, time for a peace offering here. I'll be bluntly
honest, but I don't wanna get into this petty silly
exchange of offenses. You do seem to have mental
issues in the way you expose yourself and I'm
actually changing the way I feel about you.
It's ok for you to expose whatever you deal with,
but I agree you shouldn't expose them to justify
your behaviour as people don't have to take crap
because you're not ok. And it's not like you want to
justify anything and be sorry for whatever you're
doing, you're actually doubling down. My case
differs and, for starters, it's not an "illness",
they're divergent traits, and I'm not using anything
as an excuse to justify any rude/offensive
behaviour. On the contrary, I was defending myself
from silly attacks and insults, implying I'm stupid
or something ;) Whatever you have or don't have
technically, an illness or not, what I see is a
confused and grumpy dude. Regardless of the case,
I'm actually just getting sorry for you.
My condition makes it really hard for me to not be
bluntly honest. It can haunt me for a lifetime if I
hold things. For instance, you were a real prick at
PdCon09. It was a nightmare dealing with you all
along. I regret I invited you, insisted on your
coming, paid for your stuff, made sure you had all you
needed, because at literally the last minute you
simply missed the flight we had paid for you. I
never told you how that made me feel (I was also
pretty busy at the event) and here I still am, finding
the need to tell it to your face how that screwed us,
how I wish I had invited somebody else instead, and
how you were just a dick about it. I don't need to
expose the details, people can just imagine how uncool
it was. It's nice to let it out, offer you a
happy song and tell you how it felt, but I'm now
having mixed feelings and it's true I'm also just
sorry to realize you're still struggling with whatever
haunts you after so many years.
Ok, it is out, let bygones be bygones. I'm done.
None of this concerns the Pd-list, but I wanted to
clear this wasn't just some silly engagement without a
history. On the other hand, you're also coming back
here and being offensive and rude in general again.
You're just revisiting how you mistreated people about
14 years ago out of nowhere. So I'd like to
clarify why I took the stand and had the initiative to
deal with you and not let you have it easy this time
around, and push you back if you're just gonna make a
scene again. I see others have an easier way of
handling this and just ignore you. That's way harder
for me, but it gets easier after I let things out.
I think the community is open to welcoming you
back if you can hold it together, as this is what
was happening, you were being treated nice, after
all you did, but you blew it. To be honest, I
poked you and pushed you back cause I don't count
on your ability to behave. But if I'm wrong and
you can be nice, welcome back :) anytime!
Really, I'd be glad to collaborate and let
bygones be bygones, and help with what's troubling
you. If you’re open to a more productive approach
and can keep things civil, I’m happy to exchange.
However, if that's not the case, I’ll disengage
and I guess others won't bother much as well.
