From my experience, simple classrooms (i.e. not lecture halls), or meeting rooms, or rooms like that work really well.  I think an auditorium might not work very well because it is important for people to mingle and mix and talk to each other.

I agree. Is important that the place doesn't have a stage or fixed chairs.

I  have some ideas that some of you could join:

1) I can help people to build a low cost microcontroller, based in arduino-firmata firmware but the cheaper way possible and use it as a general example of physical-pd interaction. Here I already explained the technique in portuguese:
http://artesanato.devolts.org/?page_id=2

2) I would like to help people to make an "install-fest" of puredata this day... I also would like to install linux for those who want to join the crew... I can also help to compile objects which aren't in pd-extended package.

3) I would like to make a "pd-svn tour" - I mean - open all the folders in puredata svn as possible during the day and try to browse as much objects as possible, and mainly try to identify developers that are around the place to take deep studies on specific cases.

4) To make a F.A.Q. of puredata doubts and question by the present people, and try to solve the question during the convention...

what else?

simple as that -> The hackmeeting has already started ... :)
see you soon...
