hi.
i haven't been using jack much,
but now when i need to playback a large file into pd wich needs
buffering basically, looks like soundfile now trunctuates files which
are a bit too big, before used readsf~ and it used to crash actually, ..
but still there is no buffering, is there?
so basically i used Snd+Jackd+qjackctl+pd
and the fallowing setup made pd crash:
connect snd output to pd inputs,
connect pd outputs to system outputs (i.e. the soundcard)
connect pd outputs to snd as well ( i was gonna try to record the file
back with snd ..but didn't get to that ..)
so what heppend was that i pressed "^\" which is SIGQUIT in Snd, cause
^C wouldn't stop it ..i just wanted to do that cause i didn't want to
liste till the end of the song, and that seemd like SIGQUIT was all i
coould do.
basically then pd have crashed in unusual way actually,
everything inside the window canvas disappeared, rather then stayed (as
it usualy does).
qjackctl and jackd seemd to be fine actually ..
think this was because the outputs where connected back to the dieing
client too.. maybe someone could confirm this?
