nforce for surround

hi i was wondering if anyone had managed to use an nforce for realtime surround in pd. i'm thinking of getting an asus motherboard with an nforce chip soon and was hoping it would be as simple as sending info to a dac~ with 6 channels and having a dolby decoder. hoping to do this with linux anyonw have any experience with this or know if it's possible? or anyone have any experience with any other realtime dolby encoding/decoding under linux cheers rene.

FOLDERSPILLER+FBOX(FOLDERGLIDER), read dir in windows A few updates. Please note that the old FOLDERGLIDER can be replicated with two abstractions : FOLDERSPILLER and FBOX. Check out fbox-help.pd for more information. FOLDERSPILLER dumps the files matching a certain criteria of a selected directory on your computer. FBOX collects file names and permits their individual selection through its hot inlet. It can also build a gui permitting easy selection. Requirments : zexy, tot, stripdir (ggee I think) mr.tof tom(a)danslchamp.org

deleting instances of data structures

Hi everybody! I have a question concerning data structures (are you out there, Frank? ;-) I wonder if there is a possibility to delete an instance of a structure created without having to switch to edit-mode (to delete it "manually"). I imagine something like pointing to the desired instance, and then sending it a [clear< message or something similar. I also wonder if it's possible to delete single elements from an array in a similar way. I want to use this for visual representation of sounds recorded in a patch for live-applications, where it makes sense to get rid of certain sounds again without having to clear the whole paint-window... data structures "multiply defined" when loaded from a file

When I save my data structures in my patch, the patch loads without errors and works, and I play them repeatedly without problems. But if I read the data from a file that I had previously wrote to a txt file, it gives me this error: warning: pd-template-sample: multiply defined warning: pd-template-grains: multiply defined warning: pd-template-pan_amp: multiply defined and doesn't work. But if I save that data from the file as part of the patch, and restart the patch, it works fine. http://eds.org/~hans/solitude.tar.bz2 I can't see any duplicate definitions, except that the structs are defined in the header of the textfiles... arg... any pointers would be most helpful... .hc http://at.or.at/hans/

I was talking about data structure arrays here, not [table] arrays, as VASP works on. Data structure arrays are fields defined in [struct] declarations and contain arrays of other [struct] objects, which don't have to be simple floats. I have an ATI radeon, but I have my glx enabled just on one of the two ATI heads. I can't see the glx windows on the secondary monitor. Audio latency problems on Mac OS X

Hi, I have a couple questions regarding PD on OS X and getting low latency for audio: 1. I'm using PD-0.38-0test4HCS1. I forget which release this is (I know there are a couple of OS X packages out there). I've started trying to decrease my latency using the -frags command line option. The problem is that with this (and all) command line options that I try to use with this app, on startup it says there was an error parsing the command line arguments. When I look at my saved startup preferences, there is a square-looking character at the end of the arguments. Has anyone else had this problem? 2. Since I'm having these problems with the saved start up options, is there a way to start pd from the command line on OS X? Should I use a different OS X port that somebody has made? 3. Is there some completely other way that I should go about trying to decrease my latency? I have a G4 1GHz powerbook. I'm using an Audiophile USB card from m-audio. The latency patch from the Tools says my latency is about 69 ms. I'd like to get to 10 so that I can play my guitar along with my patches and process it... Thanks for the help!!! Chad Wood
