hi hans, hi rest,
would it be possible to forward the pd extended autobuild notification mails to another list than pd-cvs?
- i'm interested in the commit messages, not in the autobuild error messages - it's not possible to switch off digest mode for the pd-cvs list and thus, i'm not able to filter out the autobuild mails by forwarding to /dev/null
i see two possibilities: - switch off the forced digest mode for pd-cvs to make it possible to automatically delete pd-extended mails - send pd extended mails to a pd-extended-log list
i'd prefer the second possibility, since pd-CVS implies that it's a list for CVS commit logs...
thanks ... tim

i have changed that before the autobuild-logs started. you can now turn off digest mode if you want to.
i see two possibilities:
- switch off the forced digest mode for pd-cvs to make it possible to
automatically delete pd-extended mails
- send pd extended mails to a pd-extended-log list
another possibility would be to use "topics" for the pd-cvs list. subscribees can then choose, which topics they would like to receive (a topic is set, if the subject-line matches a certain criterion)
i don't think we should have too many mailing-lists with autogenerated emails.

this sounds like the best solution ...

Nothing exists until or unless it is observed. An artist is making something exist by observing it. And his hope for other people is that they will also make it exist by observing it. I call it 'creative observation.' Creative viewing. William S. Burroughs

Is it possible to have the CVS commits remain in digest while the auto-build logs come as individual emails? That would be the ideal setup, I think, because the autobuild logs don't get sent if everything built successfully. So their presence means something isn't working. The idea is that people who only work on one platform can tell whether their changes broke anything on other platforms.

as i first guess i would say NO. please also note, that the "topics" thing i mentioned, only works in non-digest mode (because all digested users get the same digest). (and also note that while i have added some topics rules to the pd-cvs list, i have not tested them at all. so they might work. or not)
at a second shot, i vaguely remember sthg like this, where special "administrive" emails make it immediately even in digest-mode. (but i might mix it it up with moderated lists) i don't know whether this circumvents the "topics" tagging, bit it might well be.

The auto-build farm is not just for Pd-extended. The HEAD of the MAIN branch is also built every night. I also put in the foundation to add pd-devel to that. It is already rsync'ing the pd-devel branch every night. The nightly script is in scripts/auto-build/pd-devel- auto-builder.sh, feel free to edit it at will to setup. I think scons is already on the machines.
