Initial Comment: With Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 and pd-extended Pd version 0.42.5-extended-20100516 [hid] outputs 2 events for every keypress with an AT Translated Set 2 keyboard. The attached patch is the simplest patch to reproduce this error.

Message: My guess is that it is related to the keyboard that you are using. Do you get double-events from any other device? Like double mouse clicks? [hid] just reports the events it gets from the OS. It is possible that there are bugs in the keyboard itself, and in how the Linux kernel is interpretting your keyboard.

Message: I can confirm that this also happens with Pd version 0.42.5-extended-rc2 on Ubuntu 10.04
