Hello everybody,
I was thinking of writing a serial port object for mac OS X, and i was wondering if anybody had suggestions as regards functionality (or if anyone is currently working on such an object!!). Although a serial port has limited use for macs (they don't have serial ports, instead you have to use a USB to serial converter) I've recently finished work on some code that does use the serial port in Mac OS X, so while the stuff is still fresh in my head it shouldn't be too hard to write one.
I'll probably use the comport object as a starting point for the functionality of my object, so if users of this object have anything to say I'd be interested.
anyway, any suggestions would be appreciated

Yes, release it as a patch to the comport. This would improve crossplatform functionality of pd a lot
