not so high:

https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/issues/2696,
https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/issues/2700
--> none of these is critical in my opinion, but if the message
signature changes, it's obviously better to do it before people start
using it. https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/pull/2692 would
address these.

I say (I said it already) that the "Highlight active cord while connecting" feature is simply broken and can't be used with custom colors (see https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/issues/2686 ). It's not crucial, as patches can run, and people can still use this feature if they don't mess with colors, but (since adding colors is a new feature from 0.56-0) this is a bug that should be fixed and the fix is there and has been tested/approved, so I don't see why not take it. The other issues on message signature changes, of course, require consideration, as you said.

* selection of data objects with invisible text is a bit unexpected:
https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/issues/2589
* entering values for [drawnumber] and [drawsymbol]:
https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/issues/2587
--> not critical since interaction works in both cases. could wait
for a bugfix release.

* portmidi for macos needs update to support reinitialization:
https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/issues/2687
--> there is a PR by dan and hannes updating portmidi:
https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/pull/2688 ... not sure if this
needs more testing though (i can just tell that it's well tested on
macos)? since the midi rescan is not transparent to the user, this
just doesn't work for macos (without anyone noticing) and could wait
for a future release.

(i might be forgetting or ignoring things)

cheers,
