That page could use an update for sure, if you feel inspired. :D  I just converted it to a wiki page.

If you follow that, then your objects should build on all three platforms.  There are a couple platform-specific issues that aren't documented on the website, AFAIK, but they have been discussed on the list.  Or you can always ask.

externals/Makefile is a good place to start for examples.
