Summary: pd-ext 0.40.3 -alsa -audiodev # fails, 0.40.3 fine
Initial Comment:
I'm using pd-extended on Ubuntu Jaunty in -nogui mode form the commandline.
Opening pd with -alsa -audiodev # -alsamidi and autoloading a patch that enables dsp results in some alsa errors and no sound:
snd_pcm_open (input): Device or resource busy
snd_pcm_open (output): Device or resource busy
This does not happen with the same os and hardware running pd-extended 0.40.3.
On a related note, I get the same error in 0.40.3 when trying to use -rt with the same options. Non -rt works fine.

Summary: 18.conditional.pd under Vista has Access Violation
Initial Comment:
This has previously been reported as bug 2634147
When you try and open 18.conditional.pd, pd crashes. Visual Studio tells me the error is "Unhandled exception at 0x76f86796 in pd.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x00000000.".
I'm running Pd version 0.41.4-extended
Bizarrely, if I run PD from the debugger within Visual Studio, the patch will open without any issues.

Summary: Print object has problems with the name argument in Vista
Initial Comment:
Print object has problems with the name argument in Vista. Itseems if the argument contains an underscore or CAPS (as it does in select-help.pd or print-help.pd) then Pd-extended crashes. Putting quotes around the strings fixes the problem in these examples.
Pd version 0.40.3-extended-20080721

Summary: made [print] display all arguments in its posts to pd window
Initial Comment:
Just like the subject says, I made [print] accept an A_GIMME, the arguments are then converted into a symbol, then that symbol is display as before.
I suppose x->x_sym could be a char* instead.

Summary: GOP abstraction can crash pd if content is reloaded
Initial Comment:
if abs1 is an abstraction (maybe empty)
if abs2 is a GOP abstraction that use abs1
opening an other instance of abs1 and saving it will crash pd.

a quick backtrace shows that the crash appears in canvas_doclear() because

Summary: this crashes pd extended
Initial Comment:
Sorry for the generic title but I really can't isolate the problem.
When I try to open this attached patch on Windows Vista, pd Extended immediately crashes. The patch has no loadbangs and does absolutely nothing without user input.
100% of the times I open it, it crashes.
Since it first crashed when I was trying to create a [print] object, I have tried to remove all [print]s with a text editor (changing them for [pd]s just to avoid messing up connections) and could open it without crash. However, if I then go on editing the patch, creating and deleting objects, it usually crashes in a few minutes.
I suspect the cause is in some of these objects:
[dirpanel]
[folder_list]
and/or, possibly,
[sys_gui]
because I tried creating a new fresh patch with none of these and play around and I couldn't have it crash - while if I create some of these objects and then keep editing the patch, chances are that it crashes very soon.
But it may be some generic problem with all externals...
Windows vista, pd-extended 0.41.4
I have been using pd Vanilla for a long time and never had such a problem.on the same machine
