Summary: linux only? segmentation fault
Initial Comment:
This patch causes pd and pd-extended to crash, when opened and closed a number of times. Resulting message in terminal is: segmentation fault. A canvas object inside an abstraction with "graph on parent", which in turn is inside an abstraction with "graph on parent".
The same result when replacing the canvas object with a graphical bang.
Tested on Ubuntu Lucid, without desktop effects.
No crash on Windows Vista.

ah yes, I see it. it happens between 3-5 cycles of opening and closing it
to trigger the crash, but sometimes it doesn't crash after 20 cycles.

I added this bug. It crashes for me on Ubuntu Lucid amd64, and i had the
same crash on Karmic intel 32.
You need to open/close the patch several times. The crash happens when
closing the patch for nth time.

Summary: zexy's >~, <~, ==~ etc objects not loading - OSX
Initial Comment:
On both pd-0.39.2-extended-rc2 and Miller's vanilla pd-0.40-2 under OSX on an Intel MacBook, >~, <~, ==~ objects are not loading, even though the 0x2e0x7e.pd &c. files are present in the path.

Message:
Starting with Pd-extended 0.40.3 the hexloader is loaded optionally. If
you want to use things like >~ or <~, you need to first load the
'hexloader' library. You could do [import hexloader] for example.

hmm, pd-0.40 has no hexloader anymore.
you have to use the "hexloader"-external (to be found in
loaders/hexloader) in order to enable it.
does it work then?

Hi, I can confirm that they are working with Pd-Extended 0.39.2 RC4 on
Mac/Intel. But! That is not my platform; I am using 0.40.2 autobuilds.
Any idea what's necessary to get them working there? If it's informative,
the mtx_* etc. object only work after spawning e.g. mtx_mul still (I know
this is a known issue). But >~ and friends do not have alphabetic
equivalents, so that workaround is not available.

I can reproduce this on pd-0.39.2-extended-rc1 on Mac/PowerPC with the
namespace prefix. But if I use [import zexy], then they work. I attached
a patch.

Summary: HID generates two events for each keypress
Initial Comment:
With Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 and pd-extended Pd version 0.42.5-extended-20100516 [hid] outputs 2 events for every keypress with an AT Translated Set 2 keyboard. The attached patch is the simplest patch to reproduce this error.

>Comment By: Hans-Christoph Steiner (eighthave)
Date: 2010-06-15 15:08
Message:
My guess is that it is related to the keyboard that you are using. Do you
get double-events from any other device? Like double mouse clicks? [hid]
just reports the events it gets from the OS. It is possible that there are
bugs in the keyboard itself, and in how the Linux kernel is interpretting
your keyboard.

msd or any flext-based externals are not included in Pd-extended since

Sounds like you have an msd installed somewhere in your path, like in

Summary: HID generates two events for each keypress
Initial Comment:
With Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 and pd-extended Pd version 0.42.5-extended-20100516 [hid] outputs 2 events for every keypress with an AT Translated Set 2 keyboard. The attached patch is the simplest patch to reproduce this error.

I can confirm that this also happens with Pd version 0.42.5-extended-rc2 on
Ubuntu 10.04

Summary: linux only? segmentation fault
Initial Comment:
This patch causes pd and pd-extended to crash, when opened and closed a number of times. Resulting message in terminal is: segmentation fault. A canvas object inside an abstraction with "graph on parent", which in turn is inside an abstraction with "graph on parent".
The same result when replacing the canvas object with a graphical bang.
Tested on Ubuntu Lucid, without desktop effects.
No crash on Windows Vista.

On Windows 7 using Pd-extended 0.42.5-rc2 and on Mac OS X 10.5.8/Intel
Ubuntu/Lucid using Pd-vanilla 0.42.5 and Pd-extended 0.42.5-rc2, this patch
didn't crash Pd.
