Summary: bonk ignores relative paths when reading templates
Initial Comment:
bonk~ can not open previously stored attack templates when only a relative path is supplied to the "read templates.txt" message.
bonk~ also ignores any [declare] declarations when searching for template files and only works with absolute paths or templates in the working directory PPd was started from.

Message:
bonk~ should probably use the canvas_open() method to open files instead of
a plain fdopen()

Summary: Gem right-click help broken: Win32 Pd-extended 0.40-3
Initial Comment:
running Pd version 0.40.3-extended-20080721 (released version) I get error "sorry, couldn't find help patch for "<insert Gem object here>" if I right-click on any Gem object and select "help" from the context menu. The Gem help patches are available, however, if I drill down to them through 5.reference -> Gem in the browser of the help menu.

Message:
For the currently released 0.40-3 there's an easy fix:
* Open Pd
* Go to File -> Startup...
* At the bottom of the dialog screen that opens, you will see a textbox
labeled "Startup flags:". Click inside the text box
* Using the right arrow, move your cursor to the very end of the text in
the text box. Add one space, then type this *exactly* as it is here:
-helppath c:/PROGRA~1/pd/doc/5.reference/Gem
* (note the space after helppath and no other spaces)
* click "apply" then click "ok"
* close Pd
* reopen and the right-click for help patches should work

Yeah, this has been fixed, but the Windows build machine died before I
could get the fixed release out. John Harrison and Joao Miguel Pais have
donated the new parts, I just need to get the time to get that machine up
and running again. Or someone else could try their hand at Windows

Summary: renaming [pd 1] (i.e. a subpatch with a number argument)
Initial Comment:
hi,
I found a small bug with subpatches. if you create an object like [pd 123], which cannot be created because numbers are not allowed as subpatch names, then you can't just rename the object into [pd sub123], but have to delete it and recreate another pd object.
tested with 0.40, 0.41 and 0.42.
(in 0.40 the console says "error: text: no method for 'rename'")
marius.

Summary: Add 'random access' functionality to [qlist]
Initial Comment:
It would be great if qlist elements were randomly accessible. This could be achieved by allowing n > 1 for |next n( where n is the 'cue' to jump to i.e. |next 5( takes the qlist 5 steps forward, but doesn't output a value.

the problem is,that numbers in comments are not kept as literals (strings,
symbols) but are really interpreted as numbers, thus "019" is equivalent to
"19".
the same problem occurs if you have large numbers 8000000001 which will be
stripped to 8e09 (like everywhere else in Pd)
the workaround for this is to make sure that these numbers are really read
as symbols, e.g. by adding quotes (or other non-numerical characters):
#X text 50 310 "000";
i changed the name from "0 in start of comment gets stripped off..."

Thanks to whoever made this report, it wasn't me : ). Anyway, as this
person and Mathieu noted, it's the presence of DS that trigger the bug, so
you can disregard the multiple instances in ds-slider-o-help.pd; just one
instance will do the trick.

Message:
Nice work isolating it! It crashed for me with Pd-0.42.2 and
Pd-0.41.4-extended on Mac OS X 10.5/Intel. It's strange since making a
patch with just the [s] and a message doesn't crash. I attached the patch
you posted to the pd-list since it clearly illustrates the problem.

Summary: creating object called "gfxstub" crashed Pd

This happened to me in Pd-0.42-2 on Mac OS X 10.5/Intel. To recreate:
- open a new canvas
- create object called "gfxstub"
- crash!
