Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: Pixes (pix_ objects) Group: any operating system
Status: Closed
Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Matteo Sisti Sette (sistisette) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: pix_image doesn't print error msg on unsupported format
Initial Comment: If you try to load an image of an unsupported type with [pix_image], it doesn't print any error message, it just silently fails.
It should print an error message on the console such as "can't open file xxxxx.xxx: unknown image format" or the like.

Message: By the way, with some tiff files that are not properly decoded (that's a separate bug), it sometimes even prints the success message: "thread loaded image: ...."; however that doesn't happen always: sometimes it prints nothing, neither success nor error message

Message: Yep, this is the case with GEM: ver: 0.93.SVN rev3884M and Pd 0.42.6 on Ubuntu 10.10. But I get an error with GEM 0.92.3 and Pd-ext 0.43.5 on MacOSX.4.11.
