hi all,
after searching the archives, i found, that the gemwin "create" message takes an argument to specify the screen.
since this is not really covered in the documents, how can i specify the screen on windoze? with "create :0.1" like on linux or somehow different?
thanks ... tim

you simply don't. i have no idea about window-handling on w32

oh it's not that i am not interested in this. but i have no idea how this works at all under w32 and i currently don't have the time to investigate. as far as i understand it, w32 is not able to do something like "X-forwarding" at all.

i don't know exactly what you want to do. if it is just selecting the monitor, you could always use the "offset"-message. (or is it possible under w32 to have multiple monitors which are not part of a big desktop (apart from clone-view of course))

i'm not familiar with the gem internals, but if you want to look into it, this document describes handling of multiple screens: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/gdi/monitor...

I think the only way on windows is to use the "single giant desktop" and then use the offset to move the window off the primary monitor.
