hi, it is a bit of a problem that text2d disappears when it is outside the boarder of the gemwin, even if part of the text should still be visible. for example with justify left and translateXYZ -4.01 0 0, the default "gem" disappears. text2d seems also quite cpu intense. yesterday I posted that text2d doesnot like gem display lists (see yesterdays patch) so I wonder if it would make sense to render a text into a texture and then translate it. (in my case the size would not change). to me it seems this eats less cpu, correct? marius.

Just a remark, why don't you use [text3d] ? I have a patch witch displays 50 texts, and i can affirm that [text2d] eats lot of cpu compared [text3d]. ++
