I mean that i send
[driver vlc(
and
[ device screen:// (
to the [pix_video]
and it writes:
[pix_video]: backend #0='DS' : directshow dv iidc analog error: : no such object error: [pix_video]: could not find a backend for driver 'vlc' ... you might be able to track this down from the Find menu. error: Could not add the filters to the graph, hr 0x80004003
So i think backen should be changed somehow, but how ?
thanks.

Thankyou ! But how can i change "backend" to vlc ? No information in help and internet about it.
I'm on Windows 7 , PD-extended 42.5 + GEM 93.3 .
Right now GEM writes : [pix_video]: backend #0='DS' : directshow dv iidc analog
Should i install something somewhere ?

use vlc backend for pix_video to use screen capture offered by vlc. see mailing list archive for example. cheers

Dear list !
Is it possible to grab some part of a screen in PureData outside the GEM-window and render it in real-time into the GEM-Window ?
There's an object [jit.desktop] in MAX, which does the thing. Is there anything like this in PD ?
Thanks !
