Thanx Chris, it was what I thought.
It would be interresting if the gemhead turn off when the alpha channel is 0 or not (and why) ?

No.  In the alpha chain the geometry is still computed only the pixels are not drawn in the back buffer.  Also, the gemhead has some overhead for setting up the various states and matrices.  Turning off the gemhead bypasses everything in the chain.

Is it the same when the alpha canal of a [colorRGB] is 0 than when
[gemhead] has received the message 0 :

[gemhead]
|
[alpha]
|
[colorRGB 1 1 1 0]
|
[square]

is it the same for the ressources take from the CPU/GPU than :

[loadbang]
|
|0(
|
[gemhead]
|
[square]

(The both methods erase the square).

Thanx.
